No. These flutes are tuned to a pentatonic minor scale — every note you play sounds harmonious with the others. There are no "wrong" notes. The first thing to master: cover all the holes. That is the only technical requirement at the beginning — fingers must completely close the holes, without gaps. If air "leaks" anywhere, the tone will be "squeaky" or incomplete. Once that settles (usually in a few minutes), everything else comes naturally. You don't need much air — the flute works on soft breath, not force. Soft, warm breath for deeper flutes, and slightly "cooler" for high/mid models. You lift finger by finger and the melody is born on its own. Most people produce their first melody in less than 10 minutes.

Yes. If the key or wood type you're looking for is not available in our offer, we will make it for you. You can choose: key — any key, from high C to deep Low A; tuning — standard 440 Hz (for playing with other instruments) or 432 Hz (therapeutic, for meditation). Production time is 2 to 3 weeks, depending on complexity and current order queue.

From highest to lowest: A, G, F#, Low E, Low D, Low C, Low B. Customers most often request the deepest — Low B, Low C and Low D. But mid keys (A, G, F#) also have their own energy — they are faster, livelier, they vibrate in their own way.

From local wood — walnut, fir, oak, spruce, ash, as well as bamboo. The finish is a combination of olive oil and beeswax — completely natural, safe for lip contact and allows the wood to "breathe".

Currently shipping is only available for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Montenegro.

Directly from us. Resonant Crafts is a workshop in Bosnia and Herzegovina that makes Native American style flutes by hand. All flutes currently available can be viewed and ordered at resonantcrafts.com in the Flutes section. Each flute is unique, tuned to 440 Hz and finished with olive oil and beeswax. Delivery within Bosnia takes 2 to 5 days, and we also ship to Serbia and Montenegro. We also make flutes to order.

The price depends on the key, the length and the type of wood. Deeper flutes (Low C, Low D) are longer and take more work, so they cost more than mid keys (A, G, F#). The exact price is shown next to each flute in the Flutes section, in Bosnian marks (KM). Custom flutes are priced the same way, and we confirm the price before starting work.

What Bosnians call an "Indian flute" is the Native American flute, also known as a love flute or pimak. It differs from a recorder or a concert flute by its two internal chambers and the external block (the bird) that directs the air. No embouchure is needed: you blow into the end and the tone forms on its own. It is tuned to a pentatonic minor scale, so every combination of notes sounds harmonious. That is why it is the easiest flute to start with.

A 5-hole flute in standard 440 Hz tuning. For smaller hands and livelier melodies, the mid keys A or G are the easiest to hold. If you want a deep, meditative sound, choose Low D or Low E, but expect wider finger spacing. The wood changes the tone colour, not the difficulty, so pick it by the look and sound you like.
